About The Position

Delivers the desired member experience by accurately completing teller transactions, identifying member needs, and cross selling beneficial products and services to deepen member relationships. This role involves exceeding member service expectations, building trusting relationships, and actively engaging with the branch team to ensure members are served efficiently and promptly. The Teller will also be responsible for accurately completing transactions, balancing their drawer, and adhering to cash control procedures. Additionally, the role requires generating member referrals through a consultative approach, identifying member needs, and offering solutions based on in-depth knowledge of MSGCU’s products and services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months of experience as a teller in a financial institution or as a retail sales representative/cashier.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete teller transactions, including cashing checks, processing deposits and withdrawals, making member payments, processing certificate of deposit transactions, and member account maintenance.
  • Balance drawer and checks at end of day.
  • Adhere to cash controls including cash drawer limits, buy/sell procedures, dual control, and other applicable procedures.
  • Exceed member service expectations and build trusting relationships with members.
  • Actively engage with the branch team to ensure members are served efficiently and promptly.
  • Generate member referrals by using a consultative approach and asking high impact questions to identify and meet member perceived and unperceived needs.
  • Listen for member cues and use in-depth knowledge of MSGCU’s products and services to cross sell and offer solutions for member needs by focusing on the benefits and value to the member.
  • Use Creating Member Loyalty skills to effectively handle member complaints and resolve issues by working with members to identify mutually beneficial solutions.
