The Teller position involves performing numerous functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, posting to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable items, processing loan payments, savings bonds, and cashier’s checks. The role also includes promoting the bank’s products and services and providing excellent customer service. The Teller is responsible for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of Teller functions, representing the bank in a courteous and professional manner. This includes receiving and processing deposits, loan payments, cashing checks and other negotiable instruments, examining documents for endorsements and negotiability, processing transfers between accounts, selling traveler’s checks, official checks, and money orders, and processing credit card cash advances. The Teller must verify and balance cash daily, detect and resolve discrepancies promptly, and offer other Bank products to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships. Consistency in following Teller procedures and adherence to compliance requirements is essential. The role also involves establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with clients, ensuring prompt resolution of client requests and inquiries, operating an online teller terminal, and maintaining the privacy of customer information. The Teller is expected to maintain and project the Bank’s quality reputation and to establish and maintain effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management, assisting as required and keeping the supervisor informed of activities and concerns. This role may also involve performing night drop functions and related clerical duties, ensuring work areas are clean, secure, and well maintained, and cross-selling Bank products and services.
