Requirements

A high school graduate or equivalent.
Knowledge of Teller policies and procedures.
Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Good communication skills.
Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
Good math skills.
Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment including adding machines, typewriters, copy machines, coin and money counting machines, and telephones.
Good typing skills.

Responsibilities

Providing a variety of paying and receiving functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashiers’ checks, money orders, and cash advances.
Balancing each day's transactions and verifying cash totals.
Performing specific assigned side-jobs and assisting other Tellers with a variety of duties as required.
Ensuring that members are promptly and professionally served.
Receiving share deposits and loan payments in person or by mail.
Processing cash advances, cashier's checks, money orders, and similar transactions.
Disbursing cash or check share withdrawals in person.
Processing assigned cash and transactions and balancing at the end of the day.
Receiving and processing payroll deduction starts, stops, and increases.
Verifying transactions, monitoring deposit amounts, and examining documents for endorsement and negotiability.
Detecting and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Actively cross-selling Credit Union products and services.
