About The Position
Receives and pays out money and keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in financial transactions by performing the following duties.
Requirements
- High School education or GED
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through
- Basic math skills including simple percentage calculations
- Basic computer skills

- Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
- Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances
- Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
- Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds
- Orders daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash
- Balances currency and coin in cash drawer/vault at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen
- Removes deposits from, and counts and balances cash in from automated teller machine and/or night depository
- Accept loan payments
- Prepare and record cash transactions for customer change order requests
- Accept and process large coin deposits
- Redeem and record savings bond redemption transactions
- Receive and record customer item stop-payment requests
- Prepare and record account closing transactions
- Explains, promotes, or sells products or services such as cashiers’ checks, and savings bonds
- Prepare and verify wire documents
