The Teller position involves performing numerous functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, posting to general ledger accounts, cashing negotiable items, processing loan payments, savings bonds, and cashier’s checks. The role also includes promoting the bank’s products and services and providing excellent customer service. The Teller is responsible for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of Teller functions, representing the bank in a courteous and professional manner. Key duties include receiving and processing deposits, loan payments, and cashing checks and other negotiable instruments. The Teller examines documents for endorsements and negotiability, processes transfers between accounts, and sells traveler’s checks, official checks, and money orders. They also process credit card cash advances, verify and balance cash daily, and resolve discrepancies promptly. A significant aspect of the role is to offer other Bank products to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships, aiming for no more than one proof error within a 30-day period. Tellers must consistently follow procedures and adhere to compliance requirements. The position also involves establishing and maintaining effective business relations with clients, ensuring prompt resolution of requests and inquiries, operating an online teller terminal, and maintaining customer information privacy. The Teller is expected to maintain the Bank’s quality reputation and establish effective coordination with area personnel and management, assisting as needed and keeping the supervisor informed of activities and concerns. This role also includes completing reports, attending meetings and training, performing night drop functions, and maintaining clean work areas. Cross-selling Bank products and services is a key performance expectation.
