The Teller position is responsible for processing night depository, ATM, and Bank-by-mail deposits. This role involves receiving checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsements, and issuing receipts. The Teller also places holds on checks as needed, cashes checks after verifying signatures and balances, and obtains positive identification of the payee. Additionally, the Teller is responsible for completing Currency Transaction Reports and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports when applicable. This role requires maintaining the teller cash drawer within required limits, explaining, promoting, and selling bank products or services, and maintaining logs for cash sales of Cashier's Checks and travelers checks per Bank Secrecy Act requirements. The Teller also accepts utility bill and loan payments, processes TT&L, EFTPS payments, and cash advances, and places stop payments on checks and drafts. Balancing the teller cash drawer and cash vault daily, accepting information for outgoing wire transfers, and assisting customers with debit card dispute documentation are also key responsibilities. The role includes assisting in filing bank records, verifying next day new account information, processing mail, answering telephone calls, and cross-training in other areas. Maintaining confidentiality, reporting to work regularly and promptly, contributing as a team player, and enhancing professional growth are essential.
