The Teller Supervisor position is responsible for managing the daily Teller function for a branch, including compliance with policies/procedures, customer service, and sales. The role involves ensuring compliance with all regulatory, security, and bank policies and procedures related to the Teller area. The supervisor provides training, motivation, and encouragement to teller staff to ensure superior customer service and accuracy. Key responsibilities include monitoring staffing needs through scheduling, coaching tellers to meet referral goals, conducting performance reviews, implementing and monitoring the Teller Bonus Program, maintaining teller currency levels, ordering cash, conducting audits and security tests, interviewing and hiring staff, making check/cash disbursement decisions, and ensuring quality back-up during absences. The supervisor also actively participates in branch sales referral goals. Additional duties include participating in in-house training, working as a teller when needed, monitoring timecards, completing reports, assisting with other branch staffing needs, remitting special services items, maintaining supplies, and providing feedback on customer concerns. The Teller Supervisor has direct supervisory responsibilities, including planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; coaching performance; resolving issues; and interviewing, hiring, and training staff. For branches with vault management, responsibilities include processing mail deposits, coin orders, ATM transactions, commercial deposits, ordering money, sending currency shipments, and processing financial transactions while strictly following bank procedures and identifying fraudulent activity.
