About The Position

The Teller II role at First Farmers and Merchants Bank involves assisting customers with their financial transactions, including paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. This position also requires performing other duties within the branch, such as backing up the head teller, vault teller, or Personal Bankers. The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy in handling transactions, and adherence to bank policies and regulations.

Requirements

One year to three years of similar or related experience.
A high school education or GED.
Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch.
Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
Frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or clients and access office machinery and file cabinets.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.
May require stooping and lifting coin trays and bags.
To comply with the letter and with the spirit of the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
To maintain the confidentiality of customer and any other sensitive information.
To be punctual and have regular attendance.
To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers.
To maintain a professional work environment and a businesslike appearance.
To meet the bank's standards for balancing, transaction volume, errors, and cashing checks according to policy.
To complete required training and undertake additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.
To develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department/branch staff.
To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; to comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells cashier's checks to customers; transfers amounts from customer accounts as directed.
May back up head teller, vault teller, or customer service representative as needed.
Balances cash drawer and daily transactions; keeps currency in drawer within currency limits; sells excess currency to vault teller.
Answers customer inquiries and recommends appropriate products and services; makes referrals to appropriate bank personnel.
Prepares and sends work for imaging/processing.
Makes reports of large currency transactions and reports any suspicious activity to supervisor.
May be responsible for ATM settlement and processing of ATM deposits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
