About The Position

Responsive recruiter Our Teller I serves as the face of the bank, providing excellent customer service while performing routine banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing. This entry-level role is foundational to understanding the bank's operations and is designed for individuals looking to grow within the retail banking environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months of teller experience or 1 year of related customer service and cash handling experience.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Effective communication and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts and maintain punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Process routine financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Balance cash drawer daily and verify end-of-day totals.
  • Identify potential fraud or unusual account activity.
  • Refer customers to appropriate bank services and staff.
  • Assist with night depository duties and ATM errors.
  • Promote bank products and services when appropriate.
  • Follow all bank policies and procedures, including compliance requirements.
  • Complete training on phone procedures and call queue system; consistently log in, answer incoming calls professionally, directing or transfer callers to the appropriate department or team member.
  • Assist customers with basic online banking inquiries such as password resets, account navigation, and troubleshooting common login issues.
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally; provide excellent service.
  • Participate in branch opening/closing procedures and maintain branch security standards.
