About The Position

At Herring Bank, our Tellers are the first point of contact for our customers and play a vital role in creating exceptional banking experiences. As a Teller I, you'll process everyday banking transactions, assist customers with their financial needs, and gain valuable experience in retail banking while working in a supportive team environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of teller experience or one year of customer service and cash handling experience.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer and math skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, professional service to every customer.
Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and other routine banking transactions accurately.
Balance your cash drawer and complete daily settlement procedures.
Assist customers with basic online banking questions, including password resets and account navigation.
Answer incoming calls professionally and direct customers to the appropriate department when needed.
Identify potential fraud or unusual account activity and escalate concerns appropriately.
Assist with ATM balancing issues and night depository processing.
Recommend bank products and services that meet customers' financial needs.
Participate in branch opening and closing procedures while maintaining security standards.
Follow all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
