The Teller I position is responsible for taking ownership of all tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of their assigned position. This role serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the SouthState Bank Service Standards. The Teller must know and understand the products and services offered by the Bank, including their facts, features, benefits, advantages, rules, regulations, and pricing. They should be able to identify customer needs and expectations, seek opportunities to expand customer relationships through referrals, and maintain a neat and professional appearance. The role also involves assessing and managing risks associated with the job function, ensuring compliance with banking regulations like Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act, and developing a strong understanding of customer-facing technology to assist customers with self-service options. Specific duties include processing transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts, maintaining a tidy work area, potentially assisting in training new tellers, allowing customers access to safe deposit boxes, cashing checks and processing withdrawals within assigned limits, selling certified checks, balancing transactions daily, and potentially servicing/balancing ATMs and utilizing the branch capture system. Tellers must know and follow policies and procedures for transactions, minimize operational errors, maintain workflow, and adhere to branch security and audit procedures.
