About The Position

The Telephone Operator provides a welcoming and positive first impression of Miami Valley Hospital by processing incoming, outgoing, networked and interoffice calls regarding hospital services, patient information, and provides directory assistance and emergency notification information. The Telephone Operator processes pages via audio and radio equipment.

Requirements

• High school graduate
• Computer literate with proven skills using Windows XP
• Keyboarding proficiency
• Basic office equipment skills
• Ability to wear a headset
• Ability to sit for long periods of time with limited mobility
• Proven customer service skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent voice modulation and grammar
• Flexibility and ability to work under stressful conditions
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Maturity to deal with a broad range of people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds

• Previous telephone operator experience
• Experience dealing with a high volume of telephone calls
