Requirements

• Minimum 1–3 years of recent Telemetry Technician experience required
• Active Telemetry Certification required
• Current BLS/CPR Certification required
• PPD/TB screening within the past year
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved declination
• Must successfully pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs without restrictions

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Monitor Technician Surveillance Program/Course preferred
• Candidates without certification must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire
• One year of monitor technician experience within the last 5 years may be accepted in lieu of the course

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret EKG/telemetry readings
• Observe and recognize cardiac rhythm changes and dysrhythmias
• Promptly notify nursing staff and appropriate personnel of abnormal findings
• Accurately document telemetry observations
• Operate telemetry monitoring systems and equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure proper functioning of telemetry equipment at all times
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and patient safety standards
