About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the Telemetry Unit, the nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and is accountable for the care of assigned patients. The role includes guiding patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse communicates changes in a patient’s clinical condition to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms, and responds promptly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

This is a full-time, 12-hour day-shift position at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining Telemetry Unit standards of care.
• Remain directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
• Communicate patient clinical-condition changes to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
• Deliver safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
