About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a Telematics Installer at its rental facility in Geneva, New York. Telematics Installers install and repair the company’s telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction and heavy equipment, and customer assets. The role includes operating machinery for testing, working through installations ranging from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex wiring and CAN network access, and troubleshooting issues. Installers may travel to customer sites and EquipmentShare rental yards within the region, including travel within a 250-mile radius for up to a week at a time. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. The role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation, and may occasionally require work outside business hours and on weekends. The listed salary range is $20–$30; experience and location may affect the final rate. This is a safety-sensitive position, and employment is contingent on passing required checks and a 10-panel drug screen.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with iPhone/mobile phone technology and basic computer navigation.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hands and tools.
• Experience in a related field, such as electrical work, HVAC, or car audio installation.
• Own tools; some specialty tools will be provided.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to travel within 250 miles of the local branch for up to a week at a time.
• Ability to drive and maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen as a condition of employment.
• May need to be clean-shaven to enter customer worksites that have this requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school certificate preferred.
• Experience as a Mobile Electronics Installer, Automotive Electronics Technician, or 12V Technician.

Responsibilities

• Install telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets.
• Operate machinery at times during installations for testing purposes.
• Remove and replace ignition systems without a custom keypad and controller, then integrate communication between keypad and telematics systems.
• Perform installations ranging from basic power, ignition, and ground connections to complex installations requiring custom wiring harnesses to access CAN networks.
• Identify and resolve problems, gather and analyze information, and develop alternative solutions when needed.
• Travel to client sites and EquipmentShare rental yards in the region for installation work.
• Represent and advocate for the EquipmentShare platform, solutions, and brand while working in the field.
• Occasionally work outside business hours and on weekends.
