About The Position

Fonemed is recruiting experienced, dependable Registered Nurses to provide remote telephone triage and health advice to callers across the United States. Nurses work from home using Schmitt-Thompson protocols to help patients make timely medical decisions and address questions about medical conditions, medications, diagnostic tests, and other health concerns. Calls vary in subject matter and complexity, and nurses are expected to listen attentively, apply critical thinking and clinical assessment skills, make independent decisions, and document clear clinical data. Calls are documented electronically, and telephone encounters are recorded. The role operates in a 24/7 service. Shifts may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with staggered start times based on operational needs. Nurses must work from a private, HIPAA-compliant home office with high-speed internet and provide their own computer equipment. They also participate in staff meetings by telephone or video and comply with company policies and HIPAA privacy requirements. Fonemed has more than 20 years of experience in the telehealth industry, serving clients across North America. The company describes its culture as centered on care, outstanding client experience, and employee recognition. It offers competitive hourly pay with overnight and weekend shift differentials, reimbursement for licensure costs, and a comprehensive training and orientation program.
