About The Position
Abacus Technology is seeking a Telecommunications Mechanic to provide support for cable installation and maintenance at Tinker AFB. This is a full-time position.
Requirements
- 3 years experience in copper and fiber installation.
- Experience with fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cable as well as protected terminals and grounding systems.
- Knowledge of CAT 6 and cable testing experience.
- Experience with fiber splicing.
- Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and pole climbing as well as be willing to work in enclosed spaces or inclement weather.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders and other services as directed by the Site Manager under the BTS contracts.
- Install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair voice and/or non-voice communication systems.
- Run cable, key cable, or house wire to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits.
