About The Position

This position installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber-optic services for Pella Fiber customers. The Field Technician works directly in homes and businesses to install fiber connections and equipment, diagnose and resolve internet and phone service issues, perform fiber splicing and testing, and assist with the construction and maintenance of Pella Fiber’s 100% fiber-optic network. This is a hands-on position that combines technical problem-solving with customer service. The Field Technician works with a variety of technology and specialized equipment, performs work both indoors and outdoors, and participates in an after-hours on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Technical training or experience in telecommunications.
• Technical training or experience in basic electricity.
• Technical training or experience in low voltage.
• Technical training or experience in fiber optics.
• Technical training or experience in a related field.
