Requirements

Experience working as a telecommunications engineer
Experience in optical transmission technologies and optical test procedures
Experience with system-level network topology planning and physical-layer telecommunications infrastructure
Experience drafting requirements, technical site documentation, trip reports, engineering change requests, and architecture diagrams
Experience architecting and designing complex systems
Experience with network technology, components, systems, and vendors
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with network technologies, or 12+ years of experience with network technologies in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

Experience with telecom service provider engagement
Knowledge of DISN operational processes, Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs), Telecommunications Service Requests (TSRs), and Department of Defense (DoD) network security architectures
Ability to research and resolve issues in systems implementations and configurations
BICSI Certification
