About The Position

At Interstates, we are looking for future leaders on our Project Management team. We specialize in Electrical Construction, Engineering, Instrumentation, and Automation. We believe in coaching, training, and development, and we don't require prior knowledge in these fields. As a Telecomm Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Manager, field crews, and jobsite leadership to support project systems, coordination, documentation, and controls. You will help keep limited-energy projects organized, on track, and aligned with client expectations while taking on some of the toughest challenges in the industry. Requirements

  • Able to learn and apply limited-energy construction concepts, project requirements, and customer standards
  • Able to track and organize projects and prioritize work
  • Open to continuously adjusting project systems to plan and deliver projects successfully
  • Strong team building, interpersonal/verbal/written communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of clients, peers, and managers
  • Able to travel to customer sites up to 100% of the time, with Muskogee, OK as your home base
  • Expected to relocate anywhere in the US for your project
  • Will be on one project from start to finish (project lifespan 6 months - 3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership in managerial and leadership functions on the project
  • Assist with the coordination of limited-energy work, including systems such as fire alarm, security, access control, communications, data, and other low-voltage systems
  • Run project control systems for the benefit of the project team
  • CPM schedule creation and updating/communicating
  • Last Planner/White Board crew scheduling
  • RFI's, submittals, meeting minutes, and other site communication
  • Act as a project analyst; assess project controls information and assist jobsite leadership in problem solving and alternate methods to achieve project success
  • Provide estimating take-offs and other support for analysis and change orders
  • Attend client meetings onsite and collaborate with trade contractors
  • Prepare information for, and participate in, monthly project reviews
  • Assist in procurement and expediting of materials and subcontracts
  • Promote the Interstates safety culture daily
