Telecom HFC Designer

Olsson•Dallas, KS

About The Position

As an HFC Designer on Olsson’s Telecommunications team, you will design and optimize Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks for high-speed broadband services. You will create network architectures that integrate fiber and coaxial components to meet performance and reliability standards. The role includes sizing serving boundaries using GIS address data; analyzing and organizing large datasets; determining feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises using parcel, right-of-way, and easement documentation; and determining fiber and coax component allocations. You will review field staking sheets, as-builts, and field-collected data to determine optimal running lines and construction methods. You will also analyze aerial imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions, and produce and review constructible plan sets using GIS-based software. The HFC Designer works closely with engineering teams, project managers, and field engineers to support HFC network deployment and enhancement.
