Under general direction, this role assists with the management of telecommunication networks. Responsibilities include testing and analyzing network facilities, control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters, and servers. The position also involves routine installation and support of LANs and/or WANs, performing technical analyses of software and hardware for efficient operation, monitoring data traffic, controlling network performance, and resolving basic technical problems related to network failure or integrity. The role requires learning and adhering to policies, procedures, standards, codes, and regulations, and pursuing Zero Harm. The analyst will develop knowledge of AEP networks, components, and facilities to improve responses to projects and problems. Additionally, they will prepare cost estimates for routine engineering assignments, document project work, and perform routine network assignments under general direction. The position involves reviewing and adhering to approval processes for change management, incident management, and trouble response scenarios, and following standard workflows for routine analysis or operational procedures. The analyst will also learn AEP's organizational structure and the role of their unit.
