About The Position

The Tele-Pharm Pharmacy Technician will work with the Tele-Pharm Operations Manager to operate the pharmacy without direct supervision of a pharmacist, strictly following all rules, laws, and regulations to perform Tele-Pharm duties. This role involves receiving and processing prescriptions, managing patient information, computer processing, filling prescriptions, communicating with doctor's offices and insurance companies, inventory control, and ensuring all operational tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain PTCB certification.
  • Operate the pharmacy under the guidance of the Tele-Pharm Operations Manager without direct pharmacist supervision, adhering to all relevant rules, laws, and regulations.
  • Receive prescriptions and gather/process patient information.
  • Perform computer processing, including adding patients, doctors, and drugs.
  • Fill prescriptions, which includes processing, counting, and labeling.
  • Contact doctor's offices for refill authorizations.
  • Contact doctor's offices for patient/prescription information clarification.
  • Contact insurance companies as needed.
  • Check in Rx orders, identify and address shorts, overages, order errors, outdates, credits, and out-of-stock items.
  • Perform inventory control, including walking shelves, straightening stock, checking for outs and overstock, identifying outdates, and checking the transfer website.
  • Manage daily inventory orders by reviewing negative on-hand quantities and correcting inventory counts.
  • Review and count Top 200 inventory received from the Rx Services Department.
  • Review and attempt to correct prescriptions listed on the Little A report.
  • Review and correct prescriptions listed on the Negative Paid Report.
  • Review the medication synchronization calendar and process patients 3-5 days prior to their sync date.
  • Check on owes and ensure items are ordered and received promptly.
  • Stock the Rx department daily with supplies such as bags and vials.
  • File and complete daily information on filled prescriptions.
  • Separate and file invoices.
  • Check in C-II medications and complete order forms.
  • Return unpicked prescriptions to stock after 30 days, credit the insurance company, and update patient records.
  • Ensure all past due accounts are handled in a timely manner.
