About The Position

The Tele/IMC Charge RN oversees nursing unit operations during assigned shifts, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. The role supervises nursing and support staff, coordinates care with healthcare teams, and maintains compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies while fostering a positive work environment and supporting staff development. The Charge RN oversees patient-care planning and delivery, coordinates communication and patient flow, manages unit resources, and supports safety, infection prevention, and quality-improvement efforts. The position also responds to unit emergencies and provides leadership and direct care as needed. The posting offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible positions. The position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

Requirements

1–2 years of clinical nursing experience.
RN (Registered Nurse) state licensure and/or compact state licensure.
Basic Life Support (BCLS).
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to oversee complex patient care.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
Leadership and mentoring skills to manage staff and foster a positive work environment.
Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patients and tasks.
Proficiency with hospital information systems and clinical documentation tools.
Knowledge of infection-control protocols, safety standards, and quality-improvement practices.
Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills for addressing unit challenges and emergencies.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support nursing and support staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities appropriately.
Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback and coaching.
Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring care plans are followed and adjusted as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve patient-flow or care-delivery issues.
Ensure effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and hospital departments, including shift handoffs and unit huddles.
Monitor patient flow, manage bed assignments, and optimize unit resource utilization.
Conduct employee and patient rounding to evaluate care delivery and satisfaction.
Monitor adherence to safety standards, infection-control protocols, and hospital policies, and address non-compliance.
Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance.
Ensure medical supplies are available and properly used while managing resources cost-effectively.
Facilitate ongoing nursing-staff education and professional development and ensure training needs are met.
Lead infection-prevention efforts through audits, staff education, and adherence to hand-hygiene, sterilization, and PPE protocols.
Respond to unit emergencies, providing leadership and direct care as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
