About The Position

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is seeking Teen Staff for the Front Desk at its Redwood City Clubhouse. This role is crucial in empowering youth by establishing positive relationships, helping them develop problem-solving skills, and supporting their academic success. The Teen Staff member will also be responsible for communicating information about upcoming events and activities to members and the public, as well as managing program and membership data for reporting and administrative tasks. The position reports to the assigned Department Leader.

Requirements

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5 for the duration of the academic year. while employed with BGCP
  • Spanish fluency is required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Maturity and strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude, team player, strong customer service orientation
  • Attend all professional development classes
  • Attend all Teen Staff training
  • Work no more than the hours outlined on your work permit. If put on probation, teen staff are only allowed to work a max of 5 hours a week until they reach a GPA of 2.0

Responsibilities

  • Guide memorable tour for donors, families, large groups and any visitors.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clubhouse.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
  • Greet, monitor, and track all members and visitors on site, including parents and volunteers
  • Manage student sign-in and sign-out process
  • Answer all phone calls and return messages in a timely manner
  • Create greeting banners and ensure accuracy of update information on entrance TV monitor
  • Create a positive work atmosphere and foster teamwork and constructive exchange of ideas with peers
  • Undertake other duties as assigned
  • Ensure tidiness of front desk working area
  • Enter all attendance and intake enrollment data in Salesforce, BGCP’s database
  • Build positive relationships with students in the program
  • Assist with facilitating orientations for brand new members and families
  • Communicate with students and families regarding enrollment and attendance issues
  • Greet and welcome parents into the program on a daily basis
  • Communicate and disperse information about upcoming events and activities to members, families, and the public.
  • Ensure that all information posted and dispersed is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all staff, students, volunteers, outside partners, as well as all visitors.

  • Sick Time: Part-time employees accrue sick time at a rate of 1 hour for every 20 hours worked, and may use up to 40 hours per year
