About The Position

The Virginia League for Planned Parenthood is seeking a part-time Teen Outreach Program® Facilitator to join their Education team in the Hampton Roads area. This position reports to the Senior Teen Outreach Program Coordinator and is responsible for preparing materials, organizing supplies, communicating with site coordinators, and facilitating weekly group sessions using TOP curricula with three clubs across two sites (Bayside Middle School and Larkspur Middle School). The role also involves distributing and collecting pre and post assessments, and assisting in the development, identification, planning, and implementation of community service learning (CSL) initiatives and field trips.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating lessons with youth in a group or classroom setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health education, Social Work, Public Health, or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sexual health.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort and readiness to work with the diverse populations VLPP serves.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationships with community partners to implement programs and respond to program requests in a timely manner.
  • With assistance from the Senior Teen Outreach Program Coordinator, develop, identify, plan, and implement community service learning (CSL) Initiatives and Field Trips.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Teen Outreach Program Coordinator to ensure necessary program supplies and materials are on hand when needed and maintaining inventory of education program materials.
  • Accurately report expenses related to travel.
  • Prepare program materials and facilitate program content in-person (virtually during weather delays/cancelations).
  • Facilitate curricula fidelity and adaptations utilizing best practices in social/emotional learning and family life education (sex education) and classroom management.
  • Ensure program materials and program content are prepared for diverse audiences that are inclusive and culturally responsive and humble.
  • Connect students and community members to local educational, family planning, sexual health, and support services.
  • Attend a virtual 75-minute team meeting twice a month.
  • Attend two in-person half day team retreats (December 2026 and June 2027).
  • Work cooperatively with Medical, Development, and Advocacy Departments as opportunities arise.
  • Distribute and collect pre and post assessments.
  • Facilitate weekly group sessions using TOP curricula.
