About The Position

The Teen Youth Development Coordinator (Teen YDC) plays a key role in fostering a supportive, engaging, and emotionally safe environment for teens enrolled in our Teen Program. In partnership with the Teen Director, the Teen YDC will help design and facilitate inclusive programs, meaningful activities, and positive experiences that reflect the strengths, interests, and needs of our youth. This role centers relationship-building, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed practices to ensure all teens feel respected, valued, and empowered. This part-time opportunity requires availability Monday–Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. From May 26th, 2026 thru July 31st, 2026. Candidates must have reliable transportation, demonstrate dependability and integrity, and be passionate about working with youth in a supportive and inclusive setting.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Prior experience working with teens/youth preferred
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and youth engagement strategies
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead recreational and educational activities
  • Strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic youth environments
  • Must demonstrate high energy, self-awareness, and emotional regulation.
  • Able to work with diverse populations in a respectful, flexible, and strengths-based manner.
  • Requires sound judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage group dynamics in active settings.

Responsibilities

  • Build safe, trusting relationships with teen members and serve as a positive, consistent role model.
  • Participate in Pre-Employment and Trauma-Informed Care training to support understanding of adolescent development and trauma impact.
  • Supervise and engage members with empathy and responsiveness, ensuring physical and emotional safety at all times.
  • Encourage youth voice, choice, and participation in programming to foster a sense of ownership and self-worth.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sensory-friendly environment that promotes comfort and minimizes stressors (e.g., managing noise levels, cleanliness, and clear routines).
  • Collaborate with the Teen Director to plan and lead structured, strengths-based activities and events.
  • Implement weekly programming that reflects teen interests and social-emotional learning opportunities.
  • Use Club vehicles to transport youth to and from activities safely, following all protocols.
  • Serve as a consistent presence and advocate for teens, helping to de-escalate conflict and promote healthy relationships.
  • Communicate respectfully with families and caregivers, reinforcing a team approach to youth support.
  • Recommend supplies and materials needed to enhance youth engagement and program success.
  • Administer first aid when necessary, using a calm and trauma-informed approach.
  • Assist with daily cleaning tasks to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Support youth behavior with compassion, using strategies that prioritize regulation, connection, and restorative practices.
  • Maintain intentional, positive engagement with club members.
  • Collaborate with peers, supervisors, and volunteers using clear communication and mutual respect.
  • Model professionalism and a trauma-informed mindset in all interactions.
  • Represent the organization with integrity in interactions with caregivers, school staff, and community partners.
  • Work collaboratively to support youth development and well-being.
