The District Tech Support Specialist II is responsible for a wide range of technical duties including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of district-wide networks (WAN, LAN, WLAN, intranet, Internet circuits). This role involves the design, implementation, security, troubleshooting, monitoring, and documentation of these systems. Additionally, the specialist will manage and maintain Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Informa Cast systems, handle local and off-site backups, monitor and upgrade storage area networks (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) devices, and perform system maintenance and upgrades during off-peak hours. The position also requires writing scripts for automation, managing user databases and enterprise databases, websites, and networks, and configuring Active Directory. The specialist will also administer email servers, filter spam, and manage various computer and network systems to ensure security and efficient resource utilization. This role involves repairing operating systems and network equipment, configuring onsite network systems, and performing other duties as assigned. The ability to develop network documentation, research and implement data network upgrades and security solutions, recommend technical solutions, work cooperatively with various stakeholders, plan and manage multiple tasks under pressure, and work flexible schedules is essential.
