About The Position

Club SciKidz RVA is seeking Technology Counselors for their science and technology summer day camps, catering to children aged 4-15 in the Richmond/Henrico and Midlothian areas. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in robotics, Lego Robotics, Minecraft, coding, and video game design. The camps operate Monday-Friday, with staff scheduled on a weekly basis. Typical staff hours are from 8 am to 4 pm, with a weekly pay of $520.

Requirements

Experience with Robotics, Lego Robotics, Minecraft, Coding, and Video Game Making.
Enjoy working with children
Some experience working with and leading a group of children
Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
Reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
Can attend mandatory, paid training in first week of June. Exact date TBA

Nice To Haves

Teachers
College students who have completed at least their first year of college. STEM majors and Education majors are welcome.
High school Graduating Seniors who have passion for and experience working in basic science and/or technology fields.

Responsibilities

Supervising campers
Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
Having fun with what you are doing
Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled)
Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
