These technologies have been tested on diverse industrial flue gases. SLB Capturi leads numerous projects, from research and innovation to pilot plant testing, concept studies, and large EPC projects in Europe and the United States. The SLB Capturi US team is seeking a Technology Specialist in carbon capture processes to work on systems including heat integration and CO2 handling, ensuring sound implementation in studies, projects, and product development.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD within Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience. (related PhD work will be considered)
  • Knowledge and experience from process simulations.
  • Knowledge and experience of process technology and thermal energy systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A self-starter that demonstrates a positive outlook, responsibility and flexibility.
  • A team player that contributes to working in multicultural and multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
  • Adopter of a Structure and Systematic approach, who can explain complex ideas.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of solvent based carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CO2 compression, liquefaction and CO2 handling in general is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge from flue gas handling and emission control equipment is considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of technology development and technology qualifications is considered an advantage.
  • Experience in implementing research, development & innovation results into industrial applications is considered an advantage.
  • Experience from the process industry, thermal power such as gas turbines and/or engineering companies is considered an advantage.
  • Operational experience from pilot plants or process plants is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technology expertise to feasibility studies, concept development, and execution projects.
  • Apply and further develop expertise in carbon capture, heat integration, and CO₂ handling for large-scale projects, with a particular focus on applications within the Gas-to-Power sector.
  • Conceptual evaluations for carbon capture, heat integration and CO2 handling.
  • Responsible to establish documents, including PFD, Heat and mass balances, data sheets and more, to ensure correct implementation of carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling in studies and execution projects.
  • Ensure that technical specifications and procedures associated with carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling have the necessary quality in projects and products.
  • Interact with customers as part of business development and project execution.
  • Contribute to RD&I projects to develop solutions for carbon capture, heat integration and CO2 handling.
  • Identify technology gaps, evaluate improvement opportunities, and support the development of innovative solutions for large scale gas turbine carbon capture applications.
  • Identify and assess patentable inventions related to technology.
