About The Position

RSM’s Technology Risk Consulting (TRC) internship offers hands-on client experience across industries including manufacturing, real estate, construction, financial institutions, not-for-profit, healthcare, and private equity. Interns may work directly with business owners and executive management and are assigned a Performance Advisor to support their development throughout the internship. TRC helps middle-market organizations transform technology risk management and assurance capabilities to align with organizational risks and strategies. Interns use knowledge of accounting, business, and information technology to understand clients’ businesses and controls, assist with control design and optimization, identify internal control deficiencies, and support client engagements. Example projects include SOX and regulatory compliance, SOC reporting, IT controls testing for financial statement audits, technical IT controls reviews, and internal audits of ERP systems, IT security, and other IT systems. The position is part of the 2028 summer internship. The associated Elevate program is a voluntary, unpaid professional development experience preceding the internship. It includes a three-day leadership conference from January 5–8, 2027, with conference travel and participation expenses covered by RSM, followed by year-long development opportunities. Elevate participants do not perform client services or other productive work for RSM, and participation does not create an employment relationship before the internship begins. The stated internship compensation range is $34–$40 per hour.
