About The Position

Live Oak Bank is seeking a Summer Intern to join its Technology Portfolio Management Office for the onsite 10-week Summer 2027 Internship Program (May 17 - July 23, 2027) at its headquarters in Wilmington, NC. This role is crucial for delivering technology that will shape the future of the banking industry, focusing on a unified, frictionless experience for small business customers. The intern will work alongside project managers on real projects, supporting delivery activities and learning how technology moves from concept to customer impact. Strong communication, collaboration, and a willingness to learn agile methodologies are key.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Coursework, campus involvement, or prior experience related to project management, business, information systems, or a related field
  • Interest in project management and agile best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and follow through on commitments
  • Passion for technology and innovation

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and/or experience using tools such as SmartSheet, Jira, Confluence, and Office 365 is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build project management and agile knowledge and apply it to help the Technology organization deliver on its goals.
  • Support the coordination of people, processes, and technology to deliver projects in line with business goals.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and help coordinate the delivery of technology increments with continuous customer feedback loops.
  • Contribute ideas to the improvement and optimization of processes affecting multiple teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Identify, explore, and resolve problems in collaboration with the team.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with members of project teams.
  • Build and nurture working relationships with others and leverage those relationships to achieve greater outcomes.
  • Own a summer capstone project scoped with the manager and present outcomes and recommendations to Technology leadership.
