About The Position

This role focuses on the integration of technology and program management within an educational setting. The specialist will be responsible for administering Google Workspace for Education and ChromeOS/Chromebooks, ensuring security, device management, and efficient data handling. The position requires strong technical skills in various Google platforms, directory services, and scripting, as well as excellent communication and customer service abilities. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including instructional technology, curriculum, and student services, is essential. The role also involves ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding employment, background checks, and health requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years administering Google Workspace for Education and ChromeOS/Chromebooks in a K–12 environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Admin Console (security, device management, Vault, DLP).
  • Hands-on experience with Gopher for Google (bulk operations, reporting).
  • Hands-on experience with Little SIS for Google (SIS-to-Classroom sync, terms, troubleshooting).
  • Hands-on experience with Clever and/or ClassLink (rostering, SSO, data governance).
  • Hands-on experience with Gaggle (policy setup, escalation workflows).
  • Proficiency with directory services, SAML/OAuth, API usage, and CSV-based data exchanges.
  • Experience with scripting/automation in at least one language or framework (e.g., Apps Script, PowerShell, Python, GAM).
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations.
  • Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
  • Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and the Department of Education has given clearance.
  • During the initial six-month period, provide a sworn statement that there have not been any convictions of a crime or a disorderly person's offense.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation.
  • Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Google Workspace for Education and ChromeOS/Chromebooks in a K–12 environment.
  • Manage Google Admin Console, including security, device management, Vault, and DLP.
  • Utilize Gopher for Google for bulk operations and reporting.
  • Manage Little SIS for Google, including SIS-to-Classroom sync, terms, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Clever and/or ClassLink for rostering, SSO, and data governance.
  • Configure Gaggle for policy setup and escalation workflows.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with directory services, SAML/OAuth, API usage, and CSV-based data exchanges.

  • Provide clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Instructional Technology, Curriculum, and Student Services.
  • Make presentations.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Business Applications.
  • Protect the confidentiality of records and information.
  • Promote a close working relationship with Assistant Superintendents for Schools and Academies, School Leadership Teams, and the Director of Google certifications.
