About The Position

This role exists because the organization is growing and teams are making tool decisions somewhat independently, leading to duplicate subscriptions, under-utilized licenses, and automatic renewals. The ideal candidate will help change this by being a go-to resource for teams when they are deciding on new tools, and by ensuring existing tools are utilized effectively. The role requires someone to own the delivery of technology enablement, building systems, coaching teams, and performing hands-on work to optimize the technology portfolio. It is a high-visibility role with significant autonomy, offering influence on how the company uses technology at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing SaaS portfolios, vendor relationships, and internal tooling programs.
  • Experience building or operating vendor risk and governance frameworks, ideally involving Legal, Privacy, and Security without creating bottlenecks.
  • Experience acting as both an advisor and providing hands-on work.
  • Experience owning the end-to-end process for evaluating new tool requests, ensuring decisions account for company-wide impact.
  • Experience identifying redundancy and intentional overlap within tooling portfolios.
  • Experience driving tool adoption and value realization beyond initial implementation.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to solve problems and a point of view on build vs. buy decisions.
  • Clear communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain systems for clear visibility into the technology portfolio, tracking assets, costs, and areas of over-investment or exposure.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for teams evaluating new tools, coaching them through structured evaluation frameworks.
  • Manage vendor relationships, tracking renewal cycles, surfacing risks, and identifying opportunities for better value.
  • Lead build-vs.-buy conversations, especially concerning AI tools, including prototyping to assess necessity.
  • Develop automations, tooling programs, and systems to scale the management of the technology portfolio.
  • Drive tool adoption and value realization, helping teams achieve a strong return on investment.
  • Communicate clearly across all organizational levels, explaining complex vendor landscapes and renewals.
