About The Position

We are seeking a Technology Director within HR & Finance to provide strategic leadership for technology capabilities that support Human Resources and Finance functions. This role is accountable for setting technology direction, overseeing platform reliability and resiliency, and ensuring systems supporting workforce, payroll, benefits, financial operations, and reporting are secure, scalable, and highly available. The Technology Director partners closely with HR and Finance leadership to translate business strategy into technology roadmaps, ensures operational stability and regulatory readiness, and drives continuous improvement across availability, observability, incident response, and service performance for critical enterprise platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in progressive technology experience, including leadership roles in enterprise platforms, cloud, or operations.
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing highly available, business‑critical platforms in regulated environments
  • Background in reliability engineering, production operations, technology risk, or business continuity strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and communicate technology risk and trade‑offs clearly
  • Strong understanding of cloud and SaaS‑based enterprise platforms (HRIS, Finance, ERP ecosystems)
  • Working knowledge of operational concepts: observability, monitoring, incident management, SLIs/SLOs, and resiliency planning
  • Experience with vendor and third‑party risk management
  • Financial and operational acumen to balance cost, risk, and performance
  • Ability to lead through influence across matrixed teams and shared services organizations
  • Executive‑level communication skills, including the ability to brief risk, resiliency posture, and technology health
  • Strategic, business‑oriented technology leader rather than a hands‑on engineer
  • Comfortable operating at both executive and execution levels
  • Strong collaborator across HR, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams
  • Focused on outcomes: stability, trust, transparency, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic technology leadership for HR and Finance platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, resiliency, and business continuity objectives
  • Own availability, reliability, and operational health of critical HR and Finance systems, including vendor‑hosted and cloud‑based platforms
  • Establish standards for monitoring, observability, incident management, and post‑incident reviews across the HR & Finance technology portfolio
  • Lead and develop engineering, platform, and support teams responsible for system reliability and operational excellence
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure systems meet regulatory, security, and resiliency requirements
  • Oversee vendor relationships, managed services, and SaaS providers to ensure performance, uptime, and contractual SLAs are met
  • Drive modernization initiatives focused on automation, data‑driven insights, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Provide senior‑level risk visibility related to system resiliency, third‑party dependencies, and operational readiness
