Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred, or have related technical field experience.
  • RCDD or the desire to achieve the RCDD certification.
  • One or more years’ experience in the architectural engineering industry designing large and complex building technology systems.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Revit.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of building technology systems.
  • Understanding of BICSI standards and NFPA codes.
  • Ability to design complex building technology systems.
  • Possess a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into one of the firm’s senior technology designers.
  • Familiarity with various building types including healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, and others.
  • Reliable, accountable, and receptive to feedback.
  • Ability to follow directions and learn new concepts quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the lead designer or project manager, design of complex technology systems including structured cabling, indoor and outside-plant pathways, electronic security systems, audio-visual systems, intelligent building systems, nurse call, telecommunications grounding, and other systems.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with our MEP teams, architectural clients, building owners, and construction managers.
  • Prepare 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit.
  • Assist with preparation of Division 27 and 28 specifications.
  • Perform Contract Administration duties including site visits, submittal review, and contractor assistance.
  • Remain current on emerging building technology systems.
