About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring a Technology Design Intern in St. Louis, MO. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology systems in buildings through a paid, mentored internship with real project work. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and budget-conscious design efforts while working with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. With a low-voltage focus area, you'll contribute to education and institutional work while learning from a team with deep experience in security and technology systems consulting.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
  • Strong interest in building design consulting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge
  • Developing proficiency in the use of BIM software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of technology projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
  • Research commercially available equipment
  • Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files
  • Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and perform other services as required by the contract services agreement
  • Perform other duties assigned by the employer
