About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Senior Technology Engineer in St. Louis, MO, to serve as a lead designer or project lead for large, highly complex low-voltage technology (ICT) building-system projects. This role collaborates with engineers and consultants to provide project leadership, technical solutions, and client guidance. You will support analysis, design, implementation oversight, project budgets, training and mentoring, and cross-functional coordination. The team supports Education, Institutional, and MEP markets and performs security and technology risk and systems consulting.

Requirements

  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications

  • Proficiency in the use of BIM software
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50%, including local, domestic, and international travel as needed for business purposes, which may include overnight stays and/or air travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis and design of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
  • Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools.
  • Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analysis and technical reports.
  • Gather project requirements and communicate technical information with clients.
  • Conduct in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes.
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, and assistance resolving field issues with minimal support from senior staff.
  • Lead research, development, and innovation efforts in low-voltage technology engineering.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Lead project interviews and presentations.
  • Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity as the point of contact for teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors / Leaders during initial project opportunities.
  • Assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, proposal generation, and contract reviews.
  • Create project schedules with milestone and deadline targets.
  • Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentages.
  • Ensure designs meet owner, code, quality control, and milestone-deliverable requirements.
  • Coordinate design staff and project schedules through design and construction phases.
  • Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.
  • Resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders, and obtain appropriate approvals.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff while building and developing client relationships.
