About The Position

The Test Engineer functionally tests embedded firmware in AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) in products. The Test Engineer designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required)
  • 3-6 years of experience in test and measurement environment (required)
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and repair Test Lab equipment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable requirements of regulatory bodies such as U.L., CSA and the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment and methodologies for electrical systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Skilled in configuring, debugging, and troubleshooting hardware, firmware, software, and lab test environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical risk, test results, and recommendations clearly to engineering and management audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated test tools and test automation frameworks; Python, LabVIEW, or equivalent tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and develop functional tests based on assigned projects.
  • Work with test engineers and lab technicians in a team environment.
  • Specific functional responsibilities are assigned and reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as required by the Director Engineering Lab & Product Test.
