About The Position

Protiviti is looking for a Technology Audit & Advisory Senior Consultant to join our growing team. As a Senior Consultant, you will be a mentor, trainer, and coach to Interns and Consultants as you facilitate the successful completion of project work plans. You’ll identify areas of risk and opportunities to increase efficiency. You’ll strengthen relationships and deepen your abilities to communicate, gain trust, and network with client personnel and professional associates. At the direction of Managers, you may accept responsibility for decision-making in areas including establishing project scope and work plans, project staffing, preparation of deliverables, and application of methodologies. At Protiviti, Technology Audit & Advisory focuses on helping clients better manage risks associated with their use of technology, protecting and enhancing enterprise value. This includes identifying solutions to client problems related to technology, helping them to rethink how technology processes are managed by incorporating AI and automation, and enabling a deeper, broader, more efficient, and more insightful analysis of our clients’ technology risks by incorporating analytics, AI, automation and other new tools and methods in the execution of audit work. We support a broad set of potential certifications and related trainings for our team, equipping our technology audit organization to stay at the forefront of emerging risks and trends. Consultants in Technology Audit & Advisory work with clients to assess, identify risk, advise, and consult on different technology-related topics, including: Cybersecurity, Cloud Assurance, Project Risk Advisory, Technology Risk Management and Assessment, IT General Controls (ITGC), AI and Data Governance, Data Privacy, Technology Regulations, Enterprise Applications, Technology Resilience, IT Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance, Emerging Technologies, 2nd Line Controls, Governance, and Technology Enablement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or business-related field).
  • 2+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or related field, either in professional services or industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Experience with or understanding of IT audit methodologies and developing necessary audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
  • Experience with commonly used internal control frameworks, including COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, ITIL, etc.
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance, in particular the technology implications and requirements.
  • Supervisory experience of teams including mentoring, oversight and review of work, coordination across teams, and understanding how to motivate.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and/or RPA Solutions.
  • Professional certification such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or similar preferred.
  • Interest in all things related to data and technology, including the latest trends and developments.
  • Interest in project management and team leadership.
  • Interest in working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in: The latest trends and developments in data and technology, including high-growth topics of cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, privacy, analytics, enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics etc.), disaster recovery, systems development methodologies etc.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in: Analytics and technology enablement (automation, AI/ML etc.).
  • Exposure to and/or interest in: Evaluating, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting data.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in: Establishing and cultivating business relationships and a professional network.
  • Ability to translate and communicate technology topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the successful completion of project work plans as a mentor, trainer, and coach to Interns and Consultants.
  • Identify areas of risk and opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Strengthen relationships and deepen abilities to communicate, gain trust, and network with client personnel and professional associates.
  • Accept responsibility for decision-making in areas including establishing project scope and work plans, project staffing, preparation of deliverables, and application of methodologies, at the direction of Managers.
  • Assess, identify risk, advise, and consult on different technology-related topics.
  • Leverage AI to enhance personal productivity as well as internal audit and SOX activities, including planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Perform documentation of findings and summarize recommendations.
