Requirements

  • Knowledge of a programming language (Python, MATLAB, C++ or similar) is required.
  • Familiarity with CFD and/or FEA tools (preferably ANSYS) is required.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles.
  • Team player and organized, requiring minimum supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good technical writing and communication skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to speak French with our team in Quebec
  • In a multicultural and international environment, a good command of English is necessary to interact with part of our clientele and international team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in engineering, preferably related to chillers and/or HVAC systems, is an asset.
  • Experience with prototype testing and data analysis is an asset.
  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree (master’s or more, an asset) in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Familiarity with standard chiller performance test procedures is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with CAD software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze various heat exchanger types, including shell-and-tube (e.g., flooded, falling film, DX), brazed plates, fin-and-tube, and microchannel configurations.
  • Conduct thermal and fluid flow analyses to ensure optimal thermal performance and heat exchanger efficiency.
  • Select components and work with suppliers as required to develop new concepts.
  • Develop models for the main system components of existing and new products.
  • Provide support to the product development and engineering teams to resolve system or heat exchanger issues.
  • Conduct and analyze tests on system performance to validate and improve system design.
