About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing and monitoring patient care and use of hospital resources to ensure the patient receives high quality, cost effective care. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with various insurance agencies and reporting to them pertinent patient information to obtain certification for services.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (in a healthcare related field) such as Cardiovascular Tech, Radiologic Tech, or Certified Surgical Tech, required.
  • Registered Radiologic Tech RT(R) or Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) certification must be obtained within two years if a RT or CVT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • 2 years radiology experience for RT / CVT required or 1-2 years Cath Lab and/or Interventional radiology experience preferred
  • 3-4years Cath Lab experience required for CST Certified Surgical Tech (CST) must have 3-4 years of Cath Lab experience within the last 3 years of hire.
  • Must be fluent in medical terminology;
  • Ability to use radiographic equipment and handle patients who present in a variety of conditions.
  • Ability to read a 12 lead EKG;
  • Ability to identify lethal arrhythmias 100% of the time;
  • Ability to identify normal versus abnormal intra cardiac and peripheral pressure waveforms.
  • Ability to demonstrate the principals of surgical asepsis.
  • Experience in electric countershock techniques.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of CMS & DOH regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cardiology, electrophysiology and pacemaker and related equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stock room with supplies, stores incoming supplies, notifies supervisor when inventory is low.
  • Report equipment malfunction to supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Follow standard precaution guidelines.
