About The Position

Assists the surgical team during operations and procedures by arranging, inventorying, and maintaining the sterile setup, and passing items as needed. Helps prepare the surgical suite, move patients, and clean. Provides aid with exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions to support safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of technologist with proof of graduation, or previously employed as a surgical technologist for at least 18 months in a hospital or surgery center.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral, and verbal formats to achieve productivity and efficiency.
• Able to write legibly and record information accurately as needed for job duties.
• Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually.
• Computer literacy.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with procedures for surgical patients in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Assists in providing intraoperative care.
• Safely and adequately provides and uses equipment and supplies based on patient needs.
• Performs activities that demonstrate technical accountability.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Arranges, inventories, and maintains the sterile setup and passes items as needed.
• Assists with preparation of the surgical suite, moving patients, and cleaning.
• Provides aid with exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that support safe operations and optimal patient outcomes.
