Techno Functional Consultant L1(Contract)
About The Position
The purpose of this role is to bridge client's functional and technical requirements at the module level by assisting in outlining technical specifications, performing basic configuration, and troubleshooting initial system issues. We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure automation solutions across enterprise environments. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Ansible, Terraform, and DevOps practices, enabling the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and operational processes. The role requires close collaboration with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Ansible for configuration management and orchestration.
- Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Git version control.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
- Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience managing cloud environments (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities
- Understand the functional requirements and assist in translating these into technical specifications.
- Assist in performing coding, configuration, and minor customisations as per defined design and development standards.
- Support integration testing by validating interface behaviour and identifying basic issues.
- Support troubleshooting activities and help resolve basic technical issues related to performance or configuration of a specific module.
- Assist in preparing user documentation, configuration notes, and testing artefacts for a specific module.
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Automate server provisioning and configuration management using Ansible.
- Develop reusable automation modules, templates, and playbooks.
- Automate patching, compliance, and operational processes.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Automate software deployment and release processes.
- Implement version control best practices using Git.
- Support continuous delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Automate deployment and management of cloud infrastructure (Azure).
- Implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
- Support containerised platforms including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate routine operational activities to improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and deployment issues.
- Ensure automated solutions meet security and compliance standards.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Network, and Application teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standards.
- Participate in architecture reviews and automation strategy discussions.
