About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region. In collaboration with the veterinarian, you play an important role with our clients by providing advice or reassurance on the condition of their four-legged companion. You work directly with our veterinarians, our assistant technicians, and our animal caretakers to ensure the well-being of the animals under our responsibility. Under the supervision of the responsible veterinarian, you ensure the smooth operation and workflow of the department to provide quality service and care to clients and patients. This is a permanent part-time position with a variable schedule including days, evenings, and weekends, depending on the operational needs of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian during client consultations (pre-consultation, TPR, restraint, assisting with record keeping, post-consultation)
  • Prepare for surgical procedures (surgical rooms, anesthesia preparation, equipment, etc.)
  • Perform blood tests
  • Manage admissions and discharges for surgical procedures (patient discharge preparation, client meetings)
  • Perform procedures (dental cleanings, taking radiographs, etc.)
  • Administer treatments to hospitalized animals as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Provide excellent customer service, respond to client information requests, and perform necessary follow-ups (post-consultation/treatment or hospitalization follow-ups, sending reports, taking calls)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Provide nutrition advice to clients
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions to acquire knowledge useful for answering client questions, assisting colleagues, and staying updated on advancements in veterinary medicine
  • Work closely with the customer service representative, the assistant technician, and the animal caretaker
  • Perform all other related tasks
