About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Collection and matrical with the Director of Finance, the incumbent will contribute to both sectors of the finance department: accounting and collection and compliance. This role involves participation in the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, tracking corporate credit card usage, managing processes related to the Travel Service Platform (NEO), and maintaining the Master Vendor List. The position also includes preparing various financial reports, participating in year-end audits, and contributing to proactive policy disclosures and compliance work related to financial policies. Additionally, the incumbent will monitor accounts receivable and defaults for Telefilm Canada (TFC) and the Canada Media Fund Program Administrator (CMFPA), process and review exploitation reports, and provide customer service and administrative support to internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in administration/accounting (3 years college-level) or any other combination of equivalent and relevant experience
  • 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of taxes (GST, HST, QST)
  • Good oral and written skills in both official languages at CBC level

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Oracle financial system will be considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of the federal government and the audiovisual industry an asset

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable (Telefilm (TFC) and Canada Media Fund Program Administrator (CMFPA) including payments and deposits
  • Contribute to the tracking process of corporate credit card usage and transactions to ensure that all expenses are entered into the payment system
  • Contribute to the processes related to the Travel Service Platform (NEO) including the payment of expenses account
  • Contribute to the vendor creation process and maintenance of the Master Vendor List
  • Prepare various month-end, quarterly, year-end, ad-hoc reports
  • Participate in year-end audit processes
  • Participate in proactive policy disclosures processes (Grants and contributions, Contracts, travel and hospitality, etc.)
  • Contribute, as required, to compliance work related to the financial policies such as procurement, signing authority, hospitality and travel policy
  • Contribute to the monitoring of accounts receivable for TFC and the CMFPA
  • Contribute to the monitoring of defaults (TFC and CMFPA)
  • Contribute to the processing and analysis/review of exploitation reports (TFC and CMFPA)
  • Provide customer service to TFC and the CMFPA’s internal and external clients
  • Contribute and monitor email inbox and self-service request portal for the department
  • Contribute to any other related tasks in the department
