About The Position

Héroux-Devtek, headquartered in Longueuil (Quebec), Canada, is a globally active company serving the aerospace market with production facilities in North America and Europe. The company's longevity, flexibility, and achievements in developing and implementing innovative production systems have established it as a leader in the landing gear market. The Landing Gear market specializes in the design, manufacturing, repair, and maintenance of landing gear and critical aircraft components. Its clientele ranges from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to aircraft operators, in both commercial and military markets. We are looking for a dynamic, challenge-seeking individual who wants to make a positive difference in our organization. This person will be a stakeholder who provides quality service according to work instructions and client requirements. Furthermore, they will be able to articulate the actions to be taken to assist in the manufacturing of complex parts required by our clients. Finally, they will be reliable, meet the constant needs of production, and ensure the efficient and optimal use of various computer systems and software. The selected candidate will report to the Methods and Programming Director.

Requirements

  • College diploma or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in the manufacturing sector.
  • Mastery and understanding of standard aeronautical technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of different types of materials, such as aluminum, steel, and titanium.
  • Proficiency in Catia V5 (CATPart, CATProduct, CATDrawing, GSD is an asset).
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Good management and excellent organization.
  • Leadership.
  • Initiative and good judgment.
  • Ability to handle pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • GSD (CATIA V5 module) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical data received from internal or external clients to produce complex, high-precision mechanical parts.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and work instructions for producing these parts according to received requirements, while respecting cost and productivity objectives.
  • Actively participate with specialists, professionals, and production managers in specific meetings concerning technical issues and develop corrective actions to maximize the efficiency of manufacturing processes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and deploy solutions.
  • Coordinate the launch of new machining/assembly development programs until they are put into production. Ensure the robustness and reliability of its work procedures.
  • Recommend corrective actions to production when objectives are not met.
  • Respond to operational emergencies for correction and support.
  • Share knowledge and work methods with colleagues to standardize the approach.
