About The Position

The incumbent performs installation, disconnection, and repair work of services at the client's home, while optimizing all opportunities to promote and sell the products and services offered by the company. He/she performs maintenance, repair, and start-up work on main lines and distribution lines. The incumbent must be attentive and listen to customer needs, respond to any questions and problems raised, offering professional service and solutions tailored to the client's needs. The incumbent must constantly ensure that the execution of their work supports the ultimate goal of providing excellent service to the company's current and potential customers.

Requirements

  • DEC or AEC in electronics or a related field
  • Four (4) years of experience as an installation technician
  • Available for on-call shifts (Reliability and availability)
  • Computer proficient
  • Driving record allowing for the obtention of a Class 3 driver's license within 12 months of obtaining the position
  • Works in various weather conditions and may perform work at night
  • Good physical condition – can lift loads up to 35 kg and perform work requiring physical endurance

Responsibilities

  • Performs the installation of equipment required for the connection of the distribution network to customer appliances. Ensures compliance with operating standards and the proper functioning of existing or installed equipment.
  • Performs disconnection, connection, relocation, moving, or retrieval of equipment or installed equipment from subscribers and replaces the service wire when required.
  • Makes the efforts required to ensure the retention of customers who express a desire to cancel their subscription or reduce their level of service.
  • Performs pre-wiring and installation of the access box in multi-unit dwellings.
  • Analyzes problems and carries out necessary repairs on various components of line heads and reception sites, main lines and distribution lines, and the branching or connection system.
  • Performs the installation or relocation of main lines, distribution lines, and associated electronic components.
  • Prepares equipment parts in the workshop.
  • Performs maintenance work on main lines and distribution lines. Carries out the necessary work for network start-up, performs radiation surveys, and makes necessary corrections as needed.
  • Performs network balancing.
  • Ensures optimization of signal quality in all interventions.
  • May be called upon to perform minor maintenance or repair work on the equipment or accessories they install.
  • Performs some coordination work between the Technical Service and public utility companies or other stakeholders.
  • When required, performs preliminary surveys for network design.
  • Completes or drafts reports, forms, or other documents related to the work performed.
  • Performs some work at line heads and reception sites.
  • When required, participates in the training of a new employee.
