Technician - Sunbelt Supply
About The Position
The Technician operates in the field, on-call, or provides technical support to assigned customers. The role installs and configures products and equipment, determines and resolves problems, and maintains equipment at customer sites according to blueprints and manufacturers’ instructions, applying product and technical knowledge. The Technician repairs or coordinates repairs of worn or defective products or equipment and performs skilled technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of assigned products or processes. The position requires frequent overnight travel, typically more than 50% of the time. Work takes place in a professional office environment using standard office equipment, with occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites.
Requirements
- Two-year technical degree.
- Three to five years of experience; the qualifications also state generally two to five years of experience in the area of responsibility.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Machine electrical experience.
- Specialized skills training or certification may be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise related to product implementation and continued service.
- Provide technical solutions and design implementations for products and services.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment, parts, components, and assemblies.
- Analyze and interpret test data.
- Evaluate the performance and reliability of materials.
- Perform routine analysis and calculations and recommend changes.
- Diagnose and report malfunctions.
- Learn and understand particular technical equipment; attend training and complete certification as required.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain products and equipment at customer sites.
- Repair or coordinate the repair of worn or defective products or equipment.
- Perform technical design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for assigned products or processes.
