About The Position

The Extrusion Technician supports production by completing line changeovers, cleaning dies and calibrators, and assisting with equipment startups. This hands-on role is a strong fit for someone with mechanical skills who enjoys working with tools and equipment. The technician follows safe work practices and standard work, communicates clearly with the team, and keeps equipment and work areas ready for production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; extrusion, machine setup, or line changeover experience is a plus.
  • Relevant hands-on experience with tools and equipment is also valued.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools safely.
  • Ability to follow written or demonstrated equipment setup and cleaning procedures.
  • Strong attention to safety, organization, and detail.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and dependable follow-through.
  • Ability to recognize and report equipment issues and adapt to changing production priorities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Extrusion, machine setup, or line changeover experience is a plus.
  • Relevant hands-on experience with tools and equipment is also valued.

Responsibilities

  • Check the work area for safety and 5S compliance; report concerns or abnormal conditions to the Extrusion Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Participate in Winning Impact Meetings (WIT) prepared to share equipment status, changeover progress, and production priorities.
  • Complete extrusion line changeovers according to production schedules, standard work, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Clean calibrators according to established standard work to prepare equipment for production.
  • Clean dies according to established standard work to prepare equipment for production.
  • Use appropriate tools and follow setup, disassembly, and reassembly procedures during changeovers and extrusion support activities.
  • Assist with extrusion line startups to support safe, stable production.
  • Support operators with daily production needs and communicate equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and leave tools and equipment ready for the oncoming shift.
